Premarital Couples Therapy
Start Strong
You’re building a life together. Premarital counselling gives you the opportunity to pause, connect, and have the important conversations that can help you create the kind of relationship you want for the years ahead.
Even very strong couples can benefit from taking time to explore their expectations, values, hopes, and concerns before marriage.
Rather than waiting until challenges arise, premarital counselling helps you develop the understanding and skills to navigate them together.
Preparing for More Than the Wedding Day
Marriage brings exciting changes—and new challenges. You may already be thinking about questions such as:
How will we handle money and make financial decisions together?
What are our expectations around children, parenting, and family life?
How will we divide household responsibilities?
How will we navigate differences in culture, religion, or family traditions?
What boundaries do we want to have with parents and in-laws?
How do we each respond to stress and conflict?
How will we maintain emotional and physical intimacy as our lives change?
What kind of marriage and family do we want to create together?
These conversations aren't always easy, but having them before they become sources of conflict can help you enter marriage with greater clarity, confidence, and connection.

Whether your wedding is months away or you're simply beginning to plan your future together, premarital counselling can help you start this next chapter with greater confidence, connection, and clarity.
As part of premarital counselling, I use the Prepare/Enrich assessment, a well-established relationship assessment that helps couples identify their strengths and explore areas for growth. The assessment provides a personalized starting point for meaningful conversations about topics such as communication, conflict, finances, intimacy, family, roles and responsibilities, and shared goals. It is not a test to pass or fail, but a tool to help you better understand one another and prepare for your future together.
